Why "one"?

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”  – Psalm 27:4, ESV
Just one thing.
There are so many things that clamor for my attention each day. Life as a wife, mom, homemaker, homeschooler, women’s ministry director, and foster parent is full and demanding and tiring. So many things fill my heart and mind that can cause stress and anxiety and distraction.

And then I hear the Lord, calling me back to the ONE.
“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:41-42, ESV
Just one.
This blog has been a work in progress for years - it has changed along with the seasons of my life. But now, I just want to share my heart as I live my life in pursuit of the one in the midst of the many.
The only thing that’s good in me is Jesus. He is the only ONE.
